Do You Realize What God Did for You?
Our sins separate us from God, because God is holy and perfect. In John 14.6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." There is only one way to God, and that is through Jesus Christ.
You see, "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3.16).
God wants us to be with Him in heaven! He loves us so much, and He wants the best for us.
One of my favorite quotes is from Max Lucado:
"God loves us just the way we are, but He loves us too much to leave us that way."
He doesn't want us living in sin, but in truth. He wants us to live our lives in obedience to Him. In order to save us from our sin and eternal death, He humbled Himself, placed Himself on this Earth as Jesus Christ to show us how to live, and died for us on the cross.
Imagine you have a $1 million fine to pay for a crime you have committed. If left unpaid, you are sentenced to life in prison. As you stand before the judge awaiting your sentence, the judge asks, "Do you have the $1 million to pay your fine?" Right before you answer no, someone walks into the courtroom and says, "Wait! Here's the money... all of it. This should take care of your fine." The judge looks over the money and says, "Okay. This will take care of it. You are free to go." How would you feel?
This is what Jesus did for you... He paid for your sin by living a perfect life and dying on the cross.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
There is nothing we can do to earn God's love; we already have it. There is nothing we can do to lose God's love; it's ours forever.
The question is, are you going to accept God's gift of eternal life, or are you going to continue living in sin and receive your sentence of eternal death?
If you're ready to accept God's gift, repent and turn away from your sin, and live your life according to God's way so that you will have eternal life, then please continue to Are you in the Sonlight?
